This is a 3 day program (2 days training, plus 1 day Safe Work NSW (Workcover) assessment).

This program provides the practical skills and knowledge required to undertake the Safe Work NSW (Workcover) assessment for Forklift Licence. The program includes pre-start inspections, operation of the forklift to undertake varied tasks and general safety.

This unit specifies the outcomes required for the operation of a powered industrial truck equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachment, for licencing purposes.

This is a 1 day program

At the completion of this program participants will be able to identify WH&S legislation requirements relevant to their own work, identify duty of care requirements, identify own responsibilities to comply with safe work practices. Participants will be able to identify construction hazards and control measures including basic principles of risk management, hazard identification and control measures. They will be able to identify WH&S communication and reporting processes including roles of designated WH&S personnel, safety signs and symbols and procedures for reporting hazards, incidents and injuries. Participants will be able to identify WH&S incident response procedures including procedures for accessing first aid, selection and use of relevant PPE and identify fire safety equipment.

Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards

Saturday night saw the Awards Gala Dinner for the 2016 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards, held at the Belmont 16's. The event welcomed approximately 350 people from various business sectors across the Lake Macquarie region. We attended in style, with fingers crossed, to enjoy a great night out with our staff members and industry partners eagerly awaiting this year's results.

ATB Training were finalists in three categories which is a great accomplishment considering there were 103 entrants. A huge congratulations goes out to our fellow finalists and winners in these categories; Branding & Marketing: Zimple Web, Innovation: Solar Power Australia - ELMOFO and Workplace Health & Safety: The Place – Charlestown Community Centre. Winners of other categories included: Young Business Person of the Year: Jennifer Holland – Throat Scope and Business Person of the Year: Amber Moncrieff – Hunter Plastic Surgery. Congratulations should also go out to Dynamic Business Technology for winning the overall Business Excellence Award for 2016.

4WD Track DA Approved

ATB Training was the host for the HunterNet General Members Meeting on Tuesday 16th August 2016, we had approximately 70 members and invited guests in attendance. We used this event to announce that the DA for our Four Wheel Drive Training facility had been approved. This National Unit of Competency (RIIVEH305E) was of particular interest for our members and guests who all enjoyed their night at our training facility in Warners Bay.

ATB Training Pty. Ltd. and Lack Group have teamed up to offer an opportunity for our clients to receive training and start working ASAP in the traffic management industry around the Central Coast & Newcastle region.

So what's involved?

• ATB Training will run Traffic Control (RIISS00044)/Implement Traffic Control Plan (RIISS00041) programs next week (Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd of June 2017) at our facility located at 225 Macquarie Road, Warners Bay.

• The cost of the combined program is $690 (no GST)/person and includes:
    - 2 days of training
    - Certificates
    - Work Placement
    - Work Placement Assessment and
    - RMS cards.

• Participants must hold a current drivers licence and have a reliable car.

• Lack Group will employ successful participants on a part-time basis at first, with the view of putting the right candidates into full-time roles.

• Participants will start off working a minimum of 3 days per week at an average wage of $200/day, with the opportunity to increase days depending on availability.

ATB Training and Central Coast Council

ATB Training is proud to launch the first of 4 programs with our new partner, Central Coast Council.

Central Coast Council is continuing its in-depth road condition assessment across the region, as it compiles a comprehensive analysis of the entire sealed road network. The network comprises of more than 2,200 kilometres of road pavement. If it was joined, it would stretch from the Central Coast, all the way to the Cape York Peninsula!

The data from the assessment will under...pin the allocation of funds and resources, which will ensure current and future works are programmed effectively and efficiently.

In readiness for the road renewal programs, ATB Training has been selected as a preferred RTO to train and issue accreditation to the Central Coast Council traffic control workforce.

Work Zone Traffic Control Guidance Plan – Developer Skill Set extension

Our dedication and hard work as an RTO has been recognised by the RMS, with an extension granted to ATB Training as an approved training provider of the Work Zone Traffic Control Guidance Plan – Developer Skill Set program (RIISS00045) for the next 2 years.

ATB Training is one of only a few RTO's in NSW that have the RMS tick of approval to deliver and assess the Work Zone Traffic Control Guidance Plan - Developer Skill Set program.

The approval enables ATB Training to continue to provide high quality training and accreditation to the local region and meet the growing industry demand. In addition to the Work Zone Traffic Control Guidance Plan - Developer Skill Set program, ATB Training also offers the following related and RMS approved programs:

- Work Zone Traffic Control – Implement Traffic Control Guidance Plan Skill Set (RIISS00041)

- Work Zone Traffic Control – Traffic Controller Skill Set (RIISS00044)
