This skill set is for individuals who are required to setup Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) also known as Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) in accordance with approved Traffic Management Plans
This program is also suitable for minority groups, including Australian Indigenous participants seeking employment, including in rural and regional workplaces.

Roads and Maritime (RMS) have set a minimum evidence gathering standard for this qualification level:
- Theory Assessment
- Practical Assessment
- Third Party report – on the job assessment with minimum three (3) separate observations for each element to be signed by supervisor and completed within three (3) months of completion of training
* An additional fourth piece of evidence is required for RIIWHS205D Control traffic with a stop/slow bat. This may include a work sample, log book etc.
NB: Final assessment judgement must be conducted on the job and cannot be conducted using simulation.
There are no prerequisites to complete this program, however employment in the industry will also require CPCCOHS1001A Work Safely in the Construction Industry (also known as 'White Card')
